Guachinche is an establishment of the island of Tenerife, where it offers traditional homemade food, as an accompaniment to homegrown or local wine. Long before the first Denomination of Origin for Canarian wines (Tacoronte-Acentejo), the guachinches correspond to a room in the family home, where the wife of the winemaker offers some tapas taken from the family kitchen to accompany the dog de vino (the chat), an activity that has been professionalized over time. Above amenities, the guachinche client has a familiar and traditional cuisine: homemade, round stews, such as chickpeas with ribs, rabbit in salmorejo, ribs with potatoes, salted ribs with potatoes and millo pineapples, stuffed bubangos (zucchini), potatoes with mojo, party meat (pork marinated in cubes), baifo (kid), fish churros (battered fish), etc. In pastries stand out puff pastry, roasted milk or bienmesabe. We can also enjoy tropical fruits such as manga, bananas, etc.
